Study

The following images were done for my studies.

The Dream

I sent a cat into space.

You can watch the final animation at this youtube link, or right here.

Storyboards

The storyboards for the animation were the driving force behind this project.

Storyboard of a black cat longingly staring up at the stars.
Storyboard of a black cat signing up for a space program, with a training montage.
Storyboard of a black cat preparing for a rocket launch, and blasting off into space.

Seath the Scaleless

For an assignment, I had to sculpt a 3D model of a character, and I decided to sculpt Seath the Scaleless from Dark Souls.

You can view the design document to the side here, or by clicking on the link labelled "Design Document".

Renders

The final renders of the project are viewable down below.

Seath in a crystal cave from 3/4 view in a relaxed pose.

Korapepe

For this assignment, I had to create a creature based off of a native creature and relating to a maori god.

For the creature, I based the design off of a Red Admiral butterfly and Auahitūroa, the Māori god of comets.

Design Documents

The design documents, outlining the inspirations and design (including a story) are viewable below.

A majestic scarlet dragon, with wings like a red admiral butterfly, with a red comet shower in the background.

Destiny: The Dark Ages

This project resulted in a full illustration of cover art for a hypothetical prequel to the video game series Destiny. It features 3 characters with a cohesive arctic explorer styled armour set, and their respective class powers.

Again, the design documents are viewable below, or alternatively by following the respective link.

The Inspiration

The main source of inspiration for this project was the group (or "fireteam") of my friends that I play Destiny 2 with.

A Titan Warrior wielding arc energy in their fist with a void shield in hand, clad in snowy white armour with quilted padding and fur trim.

Titan: Izzy

A Warlock Wizard holding a ball of void enegry in one hand wielding a solar sword in the other, lad in snowy white armour with quilted padding and fur trim.

Warlock: Willow

A Hunter Rogue, solar knife in one hand and arc staff in the other, lad in snowy white armour with quilted padding and fur trim.

Hunter: Astaris

Karasona vs. Dreadcurse Thomas

This animatic alongside the image series below were forged as part of my final project for NGEN. I wanted challenge myself alongside developing an idea I'd had knocking around in my head for a while and this was the result.

You can watch the animatic via the embedded video or at this youtube link.

Reference Sheets

These character reference sheets were printed on A3 and available for purchase during the Whio Graduation for NGEN.

A reference sheet for Karasona, standing in a strong 'A' pose wielding a red and blue energy sword in each hand.
A reference sheet for Dreadcurse Thomas, with an elongated neck, an unnerving smile, and long segmented spidery legs.
A reference sheet for Stormee'Jiiva, an elegant draconic god of fire and lightning, with the respective elements flowing off it's body.

Headbanging Lucent Moth

This animation was done for my animation class during NGEN.

Animation set to the track Lepidopterophobia from Destiny 2: The Witch Queen DLC.

You can watch the video here, or alternatively at this youtube link.

Personal

The following images were made as personal projects.

Astaris's Crucible

This illustration was done as a gift to my partner. The character depicted is my Destiny 2 character, Astaris.

The Awoken Hunter, Astaris standing with a smile before a red backdrop with the Crucble logo popping out from the background.

The Ganymede Cycle

The Ganymede Cycle is a project done in collaboration with my partner as part of the first Ngenius Gamejam.

It's a psychological horror 2D sidescrolling platformer, set on the 3rd gallilean moon of Jupiter, where you have to figure out what's happened to the rest of your crew.

Unfortunately due to time restraints, we weren't able to complete a demo of the game, but are planning on continuing developing it in the future.

A chibi astronaut with left & right view walking, and standing poses.

This is Bob.

He was designed to be the player character in The Ganymede Cycle.

The Karasona Collection

Karasona, a personification of my mind in all its chaotic glory.

Furi

The pose for this piece was based off of the cover art for the video game Furi's OST.

A painting on a canvas of Karasona, based on the painting 'God the Father'.

God

This painting is based off of 'God the Father', but with Karasona instead.

Digital

The following pieces are some more of my digital works.

a fake manga cover of demon slayer featuring Akasha with Rengoku's spirit behind them.

Akasha & Kyojuro Rengoku

This work was based off of the cover art designs for the manga Kimetsu no Yaiba, featuring my OC Akasha.
